The company was founded in part to link the two parties together,
essentially as a virtual bridge from one area to another. The programs
only function is to search for the downloadable content and provide
information and health on how many sources are available. Another
program is used to download the information.
It is seen on every movie, every album, and every video game that is
available for purchase. The FBI warning of any unauthorized duplication
or distribution can be penalized by a hefty fine and even jail time. The
controversy and qualm that media producers have with isohunt and every
other bit torrent search engine is that anyone that can download a movie
or album could just as easily go and buy it. The media companies have
lost millions, even billions in "potential" revenue because of this
technology.
