TV news sportNew Zealand audiences will find up-to-the-minute local and world news at
www.stuff.co.nz, from top headlines to current weather conditions and
in-depth feature stories. Published by Fairfax Digital, a division of
Fairfax Media, stuff.co.nz aggregates stories from 12 different New
Zealand newspapers and other special interest sites. Acting as a web
portal, the site allows the user to customize the contents. A Google
custom search box is available in the same location on each page, making
it easy to find.
At the very top of every page are links to external sites published by
TradeMe: the Stuff home page; TradeMe, a classified ad site;
FindSomeone, a personals site; OldFriends, a social networking site for
students and alumni of New Zealand schools; HolidayHouses, a vacation
rental site for homeowners; TravelBug, a site for hotel reservations.
The user can select a New Zealand city for weather information,
displayed near the current date and time.
A bar of links highlighted by the colors of the rainbow spans the top of
the home page. Each color represents a major news or information
section: National, World, Business, Technology, Sport, Entertainment,
Life & Style, Travel. The rightmost link goes to a section of Blogs
sponsored by the site. Clicking through to a section opens a page of top
stories for that category and quick links to the subsets that make up
the section. For example, clicking on the World section displays
categories for Australia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia,
Africa and the South Pacific.
The bottom of each page mirrors the bar of links at the top for
simplified navigation. Basic text links lead to more information about
stuff.co.nz, a contact page, and the site for mobile devices. Direct
links to various classified ad areas and the individual sites aggregated
on www.stuff.co.nz end the page.
