Insurance

Every decade, many major earthquakes take place, claiming the homes and lives of hundreds, or even thousands, of people. Earthquakes leave an abundance of people devastated and homeless every single year. Unfortunately, it is very hard to predict an earthquake before it happens, and when it does, it takes everyone by surprise. And if a home isn't destroyed or a life isn’t taken, aftershocks and even a tsunami may change that. If people were to invest in natural disaster insurance, less would have nowhere to go after a disaster.

Equ.govt.nz is a site for New Zealanders who are interested in purchasing insurance for natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, volcanoes. This site has an abundance of information available about natural disasters. Anyone can learn about the latest natural disasters, whether disasters are myths or facts, and the review of operational capability. On the homepage, it also provides claim deadlines, if there are any. There is also information available on the site on how to make a home safe from earthquakes. Along with this useful information, there is a brochure.

New Zealanders can go to www.eqc.govt.nz to easily make a claim online. There is a PDF that serves as a guide as to how to make a claim and another PDF that must be filled out in order to make a claim. Once the form is filled, the site provides information on what should be expected and what should or can be done after making a claim on their site. A claim can also be made over the phone if it's preferred. Equ.govt.nz should be visited by New Zealanders, especially those who live in areas where many natural disasters occur, to obtain natural disaster insurance. Valuable information about natural disasters can be obtained from this site and online claims can be made.
