forum irish ireland discussion

Originally created under the name Cloud Boards, the first purpose Boards.ie was to discuss the game Quake. It became so popular that an upgrade was needed, and in that upgrade, the founder of Cloud Boards decided to broaden the scope of the forum and include general Irish issues of the day.

Today, while still primarily an Irish focused board, the forums contained within this board appeal to a broad array of interests ranging from home appliances to soccer to politics. The forums contain well over a million threads and almost a half a million users, making it one of the largest Irish sites on the internet. The most read forums include politics, rugby, and television; however, those are by no means its focus. The board is not designed for persons under thirteen years of age and content may not be suitable for them.

Under the www.boards.ie terms of service, users are informed that it is a place to share ideas, links, pictures, videos and other things of interest. Advertising goods and services is not permitted there. Harassment in any form against any person is not permitted and will be grounds for removal from the board. Always open to improvement, the board does accept suggestions and ideas for new content or procedures and encourages it's members to submit any ideas they may have. The board contains it's own wiki, as well as a help desk for those needing help in navigating or understanding board procedures.

For those wishing to subscribe, boards.ie provides custom avatars, a personal blog, photo webspace, and a personal email account. There is also the option to turn off ads in the user CP for those who subscribe to boards.ie.
