openings, and allows job seekers to search for job openings in India.
The website is written entirely in English and has been on-line for over
thirteen years. There are currently 27.8 million job seekers in
Naukri.com’s database. Job seekers can create a limited account for free, however their resume
will not be as visible to potential employers as they are for paying
customers and the number of displayed job openings will be limited.
Also, the newest openings are shown only to paying subscribers. All
employers and recruiters must pay to post job openings or search
resumes.
Upon joining the site, job seekers enter information about themselves
including previous experience, skills, education, personal details, and
positions they are interested in. Naukri.com uses that information to
generate job recommendations. That information is also used by
employers to search for job candidates. Job searches can be performed based on desired salary, job category,
company or location. In addition to searching using a web browser,
searches can be done by both job seekers and employers using BlackBerrys
or SMS texts. Special emphasis is given for government and public
sector jobs.
For an additional fee, Naukri.com offers resume writing services and a
salary comparison service called "PayCheck". "PayCheck" enables the job
seeker to compare their current or expected salary with a desired
positions in specified locations. Naukri.com also allows its customers
to search for schools offering courses in specified fields in specified
locations. Free articles for job seekers include advice on possible careers for
creative people, how to prepare for an interview, and how to write a
good cover letter.
